On May 28, 2018 I was able to visit this unique Target store located on 224 Highland Ave in Salem MA which I've been wanting to visit for months, All thanks to this location not being remodeled in May 2018, I was able to see this store in person, looks kinda like Mini Target Greatland with P01.
This Target first started as a Caldor Department Store in around the 1970-1985. Caldor went out of business in 1999 with the 144 others (145 in all). Kmart opened November 1999 and lasted until May 2002. Target Corporation bought the building not too long after and starting construction by revamping the exterior and gutting Kmart/Caldor's interior (The lining from it's Caldor/Kmart days are still there, not like the Hadley Target which was demolished completely and built from the ground up. Instead, this store had it's interior gutted and remodelled, it still looks like the store from it when was Caldor/Kmart). The store opened on 07/23/2003 as a P01 store with a P04 Prototype exterior.

Here's the exterior of the store, it has the P04* Prototype Exterior which is rare |
Here's the Cash Registers

Here's
all the registers (The first three registers were replaced with Self
Checkout which is in a little area near Pizza Hut Express a couple years
ago) |
Now we shall begin our tour from Guest Services to Electronics
|
First we start with Guest Services. Notice they repurposed their 1hr photo to display Target's new Love Mickey Display. A kinda cool way to reuse something that isn't in stores anymore (The sign for 1hr photo is still there though). |

Like I did in the Matamoras Kmart, i tried this shot out at this Target as well. You can see how dark the background got with the photo focused on the lighting. |
|
Blue Neon. Looks much better like this, makes it more calming for neon fans. |
|
The G department is very small here, not seen in most Targets |

This shot reminds me on a photo I seen on Google when I first searched this store so I decided to take this photo to show how unique this Target is. |

Aerial view of the store back in December 2000 back when it was a Kmart. Kmart closed 2002. When Target bought the building, the store was completely remodeled. Target still uses the former Caldor/Kmart building unlike Hadley which was demolished and rebuilt. |
